Winter Webinar Series

Winter Webinar Series

Calling all Primary Schools!

Sign your class up to an AgriKids Free Farm Safety Webinar this November and December. The 'Winter Webinar Series' of events, is supported by Zurich Insurance and registration is necessary. All schools who take part will be sent worksheets after for follow up. There is also a competition where four lucky pupils could win florescent beanie hats and wrist bands for their school* as well as some AgriKids goodies of their own. Hosted on Zoom, you can register for your preferred date and time below. take part in!

9.45am: Infants to 2nd class:

Story time Part 1- 'The Tree Swing' & Farm Safe Signage

For little farmers aged 4-7 years, this fun event starts with a reading from 'The Tree Swing', the first in the Tales from Riverside Farm Series of books written by Alma Jordan. Children will then learn how to prepare for a safe farm visit and how to recognise some of the signs they will see along the way.

Story time Part 2 - 'The Big Brown Bull' & Animal Safety

This follow on session starts with a reading from 'The Big Brown Bull, the second in the ‘Tales from Riverside Farm’ series of books written by Alma Jordan. Children will then learn how to read the different behavioural traits and mannerisms shown by animals including bulls, horses and dogs.

Story time Part 3 -The Red Tractor' & Machinery Safety

Children will hear 'The Red Tractor, the third and final installment in the ‘Tales from Riverside Farm’ series. Children will then learn top tips on how they and farmers stay safe around farm machinery and vehicles including the do's and don'ts of quad bikes and tractors.

Know the Signs and Animal Safety Webinar

Ideal for budding farmers aged 8-12 years. This fun event will include helpful tips on how to prepare for a safe farm visit by creating a farm safety checklist. Children will also learn how to recognise some of the safety signs on a typical farm as well as learning the behavioural signs shown by animals, including bulls, horses and dogs.

Children's Farm Machinery Safety Webinar

The second event for older children includes helpful tips on how they and farmers can stay safe around some of the main machinery and vehicles used on our farms. Children will learn the do's and don'ts of quad bikes, the tractor safety checklist and P.T.O safety.
